Happy Monday and Happy Thanksgiving Week!
I only have two days of work this week and we have lots of fun holiday things planned. My mom is on her way up to spend some time with us and the kids are ready for a much needed break.
But first, let's talk about the weekend!
Saturday was super rainy and was filled with the normal lazy morning, however we did manage to squeeze in a cycling class (Mike included!) before we started our favorite weekend pastime - watching football. The weather was great for staying in and snuggling up.
Saturday night we headed to our friends house for Friendsgiving. It was a blast and we immediately felt welcomed. I have said it before and I will say it again - it's so nice to have a friend close by when you move to a different state!
The food was delicious and although I didn't get many pictures, the adults and kids alike had a blast.
And if it wasn't crazy enough, we threw in some ornament making as well.
Sunday started with mass, faith formation for E and grocery pick up. I did some organizing that has been needed to be done since the move in the attic. Such a great feeling to check some things off of my to-do list!
Sunday afternoon I took Hilty to see the play Madeline's Christmas at the Gaston School of the Arts. Everett got to go see The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe with me last weekend, so she has been so excited to get to go to a play just for her.
Before going, we checked the book out from the library so we had an idea what the story line was going to be. She loved every second and paid attention to every detail. The play was so cute and followed the story to a tee.
This week we will be enjoying showing Gransie all of the fall leaves, making all of the yummy Thanksgiving food and running a 5 mile Turkey Trot (and hopefully not freezing).
I can't wait to start decorating for Christmas and sharing all of our holiday shenanigans in our new city!
Here's what is on the menu -

Playroom update:
Quick update on the playroom for those of you who are interested. After posting my mood board last week, I was so excited for all of the pieces to come in. Well, they did and I was less than thrilled.
Once it was all in and up it just didn't quite work; not to mention that the curtains I ordered were too short. The look was fine. But I didn't love it, and I know myself well enough by now that if I don't love it - it has to go back.
The curtains, although not horrible, were a little too cartoony, and the chairs were a little to stiff. It felt like a doctor's office waiting room. So, the curtains went back to Target easily and we ended up selling the chairs this weekend on Facebook marketplace to avoid setting up a return pickup and pay a 20% restocking fee.
We are back to an empty room, but the new curtains are on the way and we are headed to get the new chairs on Wednesday. Here's a sneak peek that will hopefully work out a whole lot better.
Fingers crossed!
