I can't tell you how nice it was to stay home this past weekend and not have to pack a bag and leave right after work on Friday. We have been working on The Inheritance Project since the beginning of March and have spent 8 weekends in a row traveling back and forth. It was a nice change to hang out at home for a couple of days. Well, among all sorts of other things we had planned!
My mom came down Friday afternoon to spend Mother's Day weekend with us and we had a schedule that was non-stop. Saturday morning we headed to Southern Hill Farms in Clermont to pick some blueberries. We have been going to this farm every year and can't say enough about it. Everett goes to school with the grandchildren of the farm's owners and they are the.sweetest.people. Business is booming this year and we are so happy for them.
Southern Hills has added a playground area and more to their cute market this year as well. The weather was perfect and we could have stayed there all day. We arrived around 9:30 (they open at 9:00) and the crowds were already coming in. The great thing is that there are so many berries that we never felt crowded.
We met our friends Jill and Ryan and their kiddos there. Everett and Kennedy have been picking since they were little and we couldn't resist finding some throwback photos. They were so little!

Sweet berries, sweet kiddos.
I also found some fun throwback family pics. So neat to watch our growing family :).

Love birds. We have a shared album of all of their pictures together. We joke that we will have the best wedding video ever when they end up married one day.
Everett loves the Elephant and Piggie books by Mo Willems and loved the play as well. It was super cute and the theater was awesome; just big enough with comfy seats.
The play was about an hour and was such a fun date for E and us ladies!
Sunday morning found us getting all dressed up for mass and brunch. I have been waiting for H to get big enough to wear this sweet sailboat dress forever and she finally fits in it. It is my favorite! E and Mike treated themselves to donuts after mass to celebrate their good manners.
After church we headed to Highland Manor in Apopka for a Mother's Day brunch. We sat outside on the porch and the weather was gorgeous and the setting was beautiful.
Gransie and I felt like queens and Everett loved the rolling hills that he could run around on while we finished. Such a nice morning!
But alas, our day was not over yet! A few months ago I purchased a Groupon for the Screaming Gator Zipline to give to Mike for his birthday. Since the groupon was set to expire just before his actual birthday (June 1) and my mom was in town to babysit, I made reservations to use it this past weekend.
I didn't really know what to expect, and to be honest, was really pretty nervous just before our first zip...but it was AWESOME! It wasn't scary at all, I felt completely safe and the views were amazing. I would totally recommend this for a fun adventure. Mike really liked it too.
The zipline experience included 7 different lines and one "ropes course" style bridge. The last zip is a double, so you get to race your partner. So fun.
Admission to the park is included in the zipline price, so we explored a little after we were finished.
This week is back to the norm with a trip to Palatka scheduled. We have lots of painting to do and are ready to wrap up this house. I have next Monday off, so we will have a solid 3 days to work...we will be tired, but hopefully one step closer to the finish line!
Here's our menu for the week -
M: Chicken Fried Rice
T: Crock Pot Lasagna w/ Salad
W: Salsbury Steak w/ Mashed Potatoes and Brussels Sprouts
Th: Kielbasa and Peppers over Black Beans
F: Tuna Sandwiches w/ Carrot Sticks
Sa: Palatka
Su: Palatka
Have a happy week!
This crazy girl, who turns 8 months old this coming weekend, has gone from crawling to pulling up on everything. She is ready to move! Go Hilty!
