We are in the process of cleaning out every corner, nook and cranny in our house to get ready for "The Great Swap Out" (I kind of feel like I am living in a real-life episode of Hoarders, Burried Alive at the moment)! I looooove being creative and creating spaces (especially for the little ones) that are fun, colorful and most importantly functional.
Everett's Toddler Room Transition:
I have had so much fun not only planning the new nursery (more on that in a few days) but also getting ready for Everett's transition into a full blown toddler room. It was important to me when creating his original nursery to plan ahead so that the colors and style would grow with him. I am not a real "theme-y" designer, but like to focus more on form and function with a little fun mixed in.
If you don't remember what Everett's room looks like currently here are a few before pictures. You can also read the nursery planning posts below:
In order to maximize the things that we do already have, here are a few things that are happening during "The Great Swap Out"
Going to the new nursery:
- Crib
- Changing table/dresser
- White Round Mirror
- Ikea Chair (recovered)
Staying in room:
- Tree Bookshelf
- Frames/Artwork
- Hamper
- Lamp
- Painted stripes on wall
- Floor Pillows
- Curtains (which are actually "new" to the nursery...I swapped them for our family room curtains and they look great!)
Adding to Everett's Room:
- Full Size Bed Frame
- 8 Drawer Dresser
- New Bedding; sheets, duvet
- New above bed artwork with sconces
I am so excited to get the room re-do underway. I.literally.can't.wait. Our goal is to have his new "big boy" bed in place in about 2 weeks so that he has plenty of time to disassociate with his old crib as it becomes "baby sister's".
Below is a closer look at all of our new finds-
Malm Full Bed Frame, High in White - IKEA
Odestrad Duvet Cover - IKEA
Navy Blue Cut Out USA Wood Sign - Hobby Lobby
