Menu Monday

 

Happy Monday everybody!  After a very sad weekend in the Alexander house (due to some March Madness losses for both of our teams) we are happy to get this week started off on the right foot. 

Weekend recap -

Somebody was happy it was the weekend!

Friday night was filled with our normal nightly activities, followed a few adult beverages for the parents and an early bedtime (also for the parents).  We had to rest up for Saturday’s trip to the beach!

 

We have been talking about our first beach weekend for a while and were so happy that we had a free weekend to actually make it happen!  We spent all day in Cocoa and had a blast relaxing.  E has been to the beach many, many times, but this was the first time he has been since he started walking.  I was worried that we would spend all day chasing him around, but he stayed near our tent as he explored the sand and shells.

He wasn’t too impressed with the chilly water (and the waves scare him a bit) but he did love throwing sand and climbing on Uncle Tuller’s surfboard! 

Sunday was spent NOT watching the highlights of Saturday night’s basketball games and getting out in the gorgeous weather.

We headed to the Seminole Wekiva Trail and opted for a rollerblading session instead of our usual run.  It was so good to get back into it and we covered about 9 miles in the beautiful sunshine and perfect cool breeze.  E loved going fast in his stroller, a coral snake slithered literally right in front of us (“red and yellow kill a fellow”) and I only fell once!  Score!

Everett was so excited to get out and explore after our ride and loved wearing his new-to-him red Crocs (thanks Palmer!).

This week is my last full week until Spring Break starts next Thursday and we are just.trying.to.make.it.through.  We have a pretty normal week with a trip to Palatka/Gainesville/Palm Coast this weekend for some more funsies!  We are also (kind of) training for our next race, the Lake Minneola 12K, in a couple of weeks.
