Hi all and Happy April Fools! I figured that I had better get that out of the way since this is what my friend Jill texted me first thing this morning! She still hasn’t forgiven me for our faux pooch post a couple of years ago (which was really Mike’s idea, I just got blamed for it!).
Mike did get me first thing this morning (as much as I don’t want to admit it), but I haven’t really fallen for anything else today, even though my students tried hard.
As for our weekend, it was relaxing yet busy – just the way we like them!
Saturday started out with a 5 mile run on the West Orange Trail followed by some playground time and a little shopping for a pair of new-to-me Rollerblades from Play It Again Sports. Mike has a pair and I have been wanting some for a while – so when we scored a nice pair for a good price I was so excited! They might look a little (ok, a lot) dorky, but it is such a great workout.
No shoes – no problem!
After shopping we headed to an impromptu lunch with our friends at White Wolf CafĂ© in College Park. E’s girlfriend Kennedy was there and he had fun eating and flirting.
God bless people with twins! Wowza!
After lunch we still weren’t done as we headed over to sweet baby Carson’s house. Most weekend days we pack everything we need for the day (for E) because we never know where we’re going to end up…Saturday was that kind of day! What was supposed to be a quick visit turned into some front porch living, afternoon walking, basketball cookout kind of day/night. It was perfect and E was a trooper.
Mike and I were both so excited to cheer our teams on as they clinched the first two Final Four spots. Things could get very interesting this weekend!
Sunday was super duper lazy with all of us lounging in our pjs until a grocery trip around 4:30 pm. L-A-Z-Y.
E was working on his utensil skills and didn’t do half bad. I was excepting much more of a mess, but was pleasantly surprised!
There were also many, many diaper box rides. Who needs Disney when you have dad?
Our afternoon ended with, you guessed it, more basketball as Mike and E were interested in who the Badgers would be playing this Saturday. Luckily bedtime was not derailed. This coming weekend we are looking forward to the Final Four and more resting and relaxing!
On a side note… Today was a great surprise when I checked the mail when I got home and received a letter directly from a healthy eating magazine (to be named later) inquiring about having Everett as a featured model in an upcoming article about “full size, healthy” babies and what they eat.
I want to tell you more on how we found out, but will save that for tomorrow…stay tuned!
Coming to newsstands near you!
I hope you all have a great week – happy eating!
