This weekend was packed full of fun!
Saturday we spent most of the day inside due to the unexpected rain. However, that wasn't necessarily a bad thing since we were cleaning up and getting our house read for our out of town visitors, Andy and Krista!
We were so excited they were in town and were so glad to meet Andy's wife, Krista. She fit right in and we had a blast sharing stories and getting to know her. We will definitely have to stop by and see their adorable house in Indiana on our next road trip to Wisconsin!
Saturday night was spent shopping (the ladies), grilling (the gentlemen) and watching football (all of us!). We feasted on grilled chicken on the half-bone, mashed potatoes and chopped salad followed by brownies a la mode. Comfort food at it's best!
Sunday, since the little guy was still up at his normal time (which was actually 5:30 instead of 6:30 because of the time change), we decided to get our 7 mile training run out of the way early! We bundled the little guy up and headed out. Although it was a bit chilly for the first mile or two, the run as a whole was a really great one. I finally feel like I am getting back to my old running self and actually didn't want to die during our run - yay!
After we got back and showered, we all headed to College Park (Mike and Andy's old stomping grounds) for breakfast before the newlyweds headed to Port Canaveral to get on their cruise ship and we headed to the beach for a family day.
Loving the swing while we waited.
We opted for Brian's Restaurant across from Lake Ivanhoe and passed the wait time with some playground fun. The food was yummy and quick and Everett even tried a few bites of my omelette, homefries and biscuit. He loved it about as much as I did!
We said goodbye to Andy and Krista and headed to Cocoa Beach for the day. The weather was beautiful (minus the gusty breeze) and E loved playing in the sand and water. I know that next summer he will love the water even more!
