Mike was in charge of the Anniversary weekend planning this year. A month or two ago he said, “Do you want to, or do you want me to?”
I assumed he was talking about our upcoming anniversary, which he was. I didn’t think anything else about it until our anniversary weekend came around. I was so excited to know what he had up his sleeve.
Friday night he spilled the beans a bit. I was told we had an early wake-up call to go fishing and watch the sun rise on the lake. My dad and I used to participate in fishing tournaments when I was younger, but since then I really didn’t fish much until I met Mike. Fishing means fun, but it also means that we were up and at ‘em at 5 am.
After a stop at Joyner's Bait and Tackle and Starbucks (yay), we headed to Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake where you can rent your own boat. So fun!
Mike started us off with a big catch and it was all good from there.
I pulled out a 14 inch Speck – so exciting!
Here’s the proof!
The weather was chilly, the water was blue and the company was perfect. This was just the beginning of a great anniversary weekend!
